MicroscopeThe AGM in January voted in favour of the purchase of a stereo microscope for viewing samples. This has now arrived Click Here. It has both above and below stage illumination but is not suitable for thin sections. I have put together a collection of principally mineral samples to go with it. The microscope was bought with the intention that it should be available on branch field trips but it is also available to any branch member to take home for a limited period. Obviously the condition being that if you have custody of it then it is your responsibility to get it safely delivered to the next field trip or to someone attending the trip, or on to the next branch member that wants to use it, or back to a member of the branch committee.
